Learning doesn’t finish when you leave school. Learning can become a way of life which helps you to achieve your greatest potential. We never stop learning; there is always something new and interesting to discover nearby. Learning new skills can be a bit scary but we all need to do this each time we reach a personal learning plateau. Break through the plateau by actively seeking support and advice. Take up some training, further education, night classes— any new interest which will help you to develop your strengths. Keep observing and listening and keep your brain active. Remember, the world is your classroom and you are never too old to learn.
Independence Day
Good morning, Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom...Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution...but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
To totally and completely Express myself
Jeet Kune Do is not a style or an organized institution that one can be a member of. Because of styles, people are separated. They are not united together. Because styles became law. Jeet Kune Do is the way of the intercepting fist. It is “how can I most efficiently, directly end a moment of combat?” You either understand that or you don’t. And that is that.
And when you’re talking about combat…well I mean if it is a sport, now you’re talking about something else. You have regulations. You have rules. But when you’re talking about fighting as it is. It has no rules. Real fighting, well then, baby, you’d better train every part of your body. You have to because that is the expression of the human body. I mean the… everything, I mean, not just the hand.
I do not believe in styles any more. I mean I do not believe that there is such thing as like a Chinese way of fighting…or the Japanese way of fighting or whatever way of fighting. Because if you don’t have styles, if you just say, “Well here I am, you know, as a human being, how can I express myself totally and completely?” Now, that way, you won’t create a style, because style is a crystallization. I mean, that way it’s a process of continuing growth.
You ask yourself “how can you honestly express yourself at that moment?” If I want to punch, I’m gonna do it, man, and I am gonna do it. Not you want to punch because you’re trying to avoid getting hit. So that is the type of thing you have to train yourself into it, to become one with the spirit.
Let Us All Be Heard
There really is nothing more important to me than striving to be a good human being. So to be here tonight and to be acknowledged as the first to receive this honor is beyond expression in words for me.
We all are just regular people seeking the same thing-----we all just want to know that we matter. We want validation. We want the same things. We want safety and we want to live a long life. We want to find somebody to love. We want to find somebody to laugh with and have the power and the place to cry with when necessary.
The greatest pain in life is to be invisible. What I’ve learned is that we all just want to be heard. And I thank all the people who continue to let me hear your stories, and by sharing your stories, you let other people see themselves and for a moment, glimpse the power to change and the power to triumph.
Maya Angelou said, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” I want you to know that this award to me means that I will continue to strive to give back to the world what it has given to me, so that I might even be more worthy of tonight’s honor.

在迈克尔杰克逊葬礼上的发言
Michael did that. Michael made us love each other. Michael taught us to stand with each other. There are those that like to dig around mess, but millions around the world, we are gonna up hold his message. It’s not about mess. It’s about his love message.
As you climb up mountains, sometimes you scar your knee, sometimes you break your skin, but don’t focus on the scar, focus on the journey. Michael beat ’em. Michael rose to the top. He outsang his cynics. He outdanced his doubters. He outperformed the pessimists. Every time he got knocked down, he got back up. Every time they counted him out, he came back in. Michael never stopped! Michael never stopped! Michael never stopped!
I want his three children to know: Wasn’t anything strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with. But he dealt with it… he dealt with it anyway. He dealt with it for us.
So some came today, Mrs. Jackson, to say goodbye to Michael, I came to say thank you. Thank you because you never stopped. Thank you because you never give up. Thank you cause you never give out. Thank you because you tore down our division. Thank you because you eradicated our barriers. Thank you cause you gave us hope. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Michael.
